I’m a women’s physique and bodybuilding competitor.
I started my athletic career in gymnastics and when I started getting too muscular and tall for that sport,
I transitioned into bodybuilding because I loved being muscular. I was around 19 years old when I
started serious weight training, and started competing soon after.
I won the collegiate nationals overall and got many first placings in bodybuilding at shows like the
Northcoast, Emerald Coast, etc. At the same time, I was also showing American saddlebred gaited
horses, and placed third in the World Championship Horse Show in Louisville, KY. In bodybuilding, I was
fast tracking for an IFBB pro card when I was thrown from one of my horses and fractured my spine in
several places and damaging my right knee.
After having titanium plates put in my knee and rehabbing the spinal injury, I decided I wanted to make
a comeback to the competition stage. It took 8 years before I could train competitively again, but I did it.
In 2014 I starting competing again, and in March 2015 and again in 2016 I placed sixth in Open Women’s
Physique at the Arnold Classic.
My plan is to train and compete until it’s just not a feasible action to step onstage anymore. This is my
life and I love the process! As a naturopathic doctor, specializing in nutrition and fitness, I aim to inspire
others to make healthy choices and improve their lives through physical fitness.
